Sue Williams A'Court is a contemporary painter living together with working inwards London. She's been a regular finalist inwards the of import fine art competitions inwards the Great Britain - inwards other words she is "known" together with "has form"!

Importantly it has echoes of of import landscape artists without existence a direct copy.
As such it reminds me of Henriette Simson's much larger painting Bad Government (After Lorenzetti) which won the Threadneedle Prize inwards 2011.
(For those non familiar with Lorenzetti's run - run into my post service Ambrogio Lorenzetti - the showtime panorama on The Art of the Landscape.
You tin run into a much bigger version of "The Net" on Thomas Allen's website.
I'm getting a potent feel of an involvement ideas together with concepts which become beyond sociology (see below). There's something of mythology close it. It's also a rattling controlled together with defined idea, format together with palette.

Her shortlisted run is a Quadriptych - 4 paintings of individuals who all seem to accept a peel condition. They cast business office of a serial called Damaged Humans 2014.
David Teager-Portman is a sculptor - together with his run reminds us of why sculpture is of import to figurative art. His bronze sculpture looks to me to endure pretty large - together with I'm guessing it's in all likelihood pretty heavy too. (I don't envy him his courier costs!).
It's rattling strange - the figures remind me both of medieval fine art (Bayeaux Tapestry et al) together with a children's tv programme whose mention I've forgotten. Simple stripped dorsum figures tin say stories of major significance.
As with the other artists you lot tin run into a much bigger paradigm of his sculpture on his website
I intend his ikon selected for the shortlist is actually impressive. I know rattling good the type of complete together with approach to hyperrealism that Craig brings to his work. Technically he's a rattling fine painter. However his latest paintings accept moved away from the 'straightforward' portrait together with are straightaway much to a greater extent than intriguing. He's also moved from ikon heads together with clothed individuals - only his paintings rest massive. His entry is a half-dozen footer!
