The ING Discerning Eye is dissimilar from all other fine art competitions as well as fine art social club exhibitions - as well as it's definitely worth a visit.
In damage of the paintings, drawings, fine fine art impress as well as sculpture on display
artists are on display inwards the Jeremy Gardiner wins ING Discerning Eye Prize 2013.
The Selectors - as well as images of their mini exhibitions - are shown below. The descriptions of each selector come upward from my before post ING Discerning Eye 2013: Call for Entries
The 2 exhibitions I liked the best were those yesteryear Deborah Swallow as well as Liz Anderson.
His exhibition includes 67 plant - only it seemed similar a lot less.
Interestingly his entry inwards the catalogue is the entirely i which says nil most his experience of the procedure associated amongst the contest - which, inwards effect, sets upward a contest betwixt private selectors to answer fast plenty to acquire the pieces they genuinely want.
Eileen Hogan has the largest exhibition amongst some 98 plant - which are drawings, paintings as well as fine fine art prints (no sculpture)
I didn't experience peculiarly drawn to her choices which is real strange equally I real much similar her ain artwork. She was equally good invited to exhibit piece of employment yesteryear Liz Anderson i of her beau selectors. Interestingly this was the piece of employment which my optic was directly drawn to inwards that exhibition!
I was confused yesteryear Loyd Grossman's exhibition. To me it didn't appear to 'hang together' or verbalize of an aesthetic which told me what he liked equally art. I could come across how the groups yesteryear private artists had a coherence only non why he chose them.
I equally good constitute it real strange that the DE Founder's Purchase Prize (£2,500) - Foreshore, Shaldon yesteryear Richard Teasdale - an creative someone selected yesteryear Loyd Grossman should select been 'skied'. It was if nobody had told the people hanging the exhibition which images had won prizes. Very odd. I cannot believe the Mall Galleries hanging squad would select hung it at the real travel yesteryear of the commencement wall if they knew it had won! The reproduction of the same icon inwards the catalogue is absolutely atrocious equally well. Very, real odd.
This exhibition had quite a monochromatic emphasis amongst occasional splashes of colour. However what it lacked inwards color it made upward for inwards texture. It equally good had a coherence as well as hence that although the manner of dissimilar plant varied a lot, they seemed to 'fit'. One could imagine this equally a wall inwards someone's home. There were rather a lot of plant i wanted to report longer.
Interestingly she comments inwards the catalogue equally follows
In damage of the paintings, drawings, fine fine art impress as well as sculpture on display
- The piece of employment is all small
- The piece of employment is selected yesteryear individuals as well as hung or displayed inwards a grouping yesteryear selector. In outcome it's similar 6 exhibitions inwards a large gallery.

The whole procedure has been delightful, as well as I learnt a lot most making decisions during the opened upward section. I discovered depths of competitiveness that I didn't know I had when all my beau selectors seemed intent on choosing piece of employment I coveted. I hadn't realised quite how detrimental certainly frames tin dismiss survive to appreciating piece of employment swiftly inwards a conveyer-belt arrangement of presentation.I constitute the latter comment intriguing - only it does betoken upward how of import framing tin dismiss survive to the chances of beingness selected.
Art Collector - Loyd Grossman OBE, Television Presenter, Gastronome as well as Art Historian. Here's a quote from Wikipedia "Grossman won an edition of BBC's Celebrity Mastermind on 27 Dec 2009. His specialist bailiwick was 18th Century fine art as well as artists."His exhibition comprised 46 drawings as well as paintings - which is real small-scale inwards the context of yesteryear ING DE exhibitions

Interestingly she comments inwards the catalogue equally follows
I decided to allow myself to answer instinctively selecting artists whose piece of employment spoke straight to me without initially thinking most how the selected grouping mightiness emerge equally an entity inwards doing this.

£350
- Stephen Farthing has 2 of her pieces Trees 1 as well as Hullablue

[Note: I received an electronic mail this morning time from an creative someone thanking me for highlighting his piece of employment - as well as pointing out his advert was genuinely Phil Shaw as well as non Paul Shaw. Apparently I had been incorrectly advised inwards the electronic mail sent to me amongst the names of the winners! It explained why I couldn't detect a website for him. This is at nowadays corrected.
Also if I've got fourth dimension I shall add together pics of winner's piece of employment into the previous post Jeremy Gardiner wins ING Discerning Eye Prize 2013 tomorrow.
