Outwin Boochever Portrait Contest 2013 - Prizewinners Together With Selected Artists

The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition is held every iii years.  Its aim is to encourage artists to explore the fine art of portraiture.  The contest invites figurative artists to submit entries in all media to live considered for prizes too display at the National Portrait Gallery.

It's been over ii years since I terminal wrote about The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2013.  In business office that's because I omitted to highlight it when the 2013 exhibition started inwards March. The exhibition runs until Feb 2014.

First Prize ($25,000)

Jurors

Jurors for the contest were drawn from both the National Portrait Gallery too external independent persons involved inwards art.  There is no interest whatsoever past times whatever sponsor which differentiates it from the BP Portrait Award - which to my take away heed is good. Fine for sponsors to sponsor but I'm non sure it entitles them to top judgement.

The External jurors for the contest were critic Peter Frank, creative mortal Hung Liu, fine art historian Richard Powell too lensman Alec Soth. The jurors from the National Portrait Gallery were Brandon Brame Fortune, main curator; Dorothy Moss, assistant curator of ikon too sculpture; too Wendy Wick Reaves, interim managing director of the museum.
