Ban Kids From Fine Art Museums Vs. Encourage Learning Opportunities
Following on from the recent "child climbs on really expensive sculpture" incident at the Tate, the Telegraph today published an article - Should children survive banned from museums? - calling for a fence on whether or non children should survive banned from museums.
It stimulated quite a few comments on my Facebook Page when I posted the link to this article on Facebook
I every bit good run into that the article has today generated 208 Comments. (Somehow or other a sub-strand seems to accept turned the fence into whether or non Tate Modern is genuinely a museum!)
Are yous persuaded past times whatever of the pro or con arguments position forwards for banning children from museums?
There's to a greater extent than than a few expressing a persuasion - amongst which I really much gibe - that parents should survive taught how to deport when bringing their children to a museum. How almost to a greater extent than or less classes for parents on how to see a museum amongst children?
I every bit good rather similar the notion that parents should survive liable for whatever harm their children cause. Seems to me that could exercise quite an incentive to ensure that their children are properly supervised inwards all areas where artwork is non protected - or handed over to museum employees who mightiness exercise the project of supervision rather better!
I exercise intend it's a really non bad compassion that to a greater extent than parents as well as families don't avail themselves of the wonderful pedagogy opportunities offered past times most publicly funded fine art galleries as well as museums inwards London (ie yous can't exercise goodness from the taxation exemptions unless yous exercise genuinely educate!)
