Mobile Browsing: From Serif To Sans Serif

I've simply updated the font I purpose for text on this weblog - in addition to moved from Georgia (which is a Serif font I like) to a Sans Serif font (PT Sans fourteen px)

The matter is - when both Apple in addition to Google are using Sans Serif fonts because of the rising inwards viewing via mobile devices it seems sensible to create the same.

The PT Sans font from Google Fonts

The rationale for using a sans serif font for browsing via mobile devices is that:

  • Sans Serif fonts homecoming to a greater extent than easily in addition to accurately and
  • hence brand reading on a mobile device much easier.

The mobile version of my weblog had ever rendered inwards Sans Serif on my iPhone - but it withal rendered inwards Georgia on my iPad in addition to - later a footling combat of testing - I agreed that it worked meliorate on my iPad inwards a sans serif font - peculiarly the side column text.

I solely convey access to the Google Fonts on Blogger in addition to so had to direct from what was available. If they'd had the novel Google font I would convey gone amongst that!

I also realised that both my novel websites convey sans serif fonts - in addition to it took all of 10 seconds to create upwards one's hear to sweat the experiment - in addition to closed to other 10 seconds to create upwards one's hear to implement the alter - in addition to so they straightaway all purpose the same sans serif font i.e. PT Sans

So that's why the text inwards today's version of Making H5N1 Mark looks a combat dissimilar to yesterday's!
