The Annual Exhibition
The 15th Annual Exhibition is existence held at The Horticultural Society of New York at 148 W. 37th Street, 13th Floor, New York, NY 10018.
It opened inwards mid September too yous tin come across a slideshow of photos from the reception too awards ceremony on Flickr
It continues until 21st Nov - amongst gallery hours Mon - Friday, 10am to 6pm - which has got to last disappointing for those who go too don't alive inwards New York. The exhibition is free.
However for those who can't larn to New York yous tin also see the artwork inwards this exhibition online.
An exhibition catalogue is available via the ASBA website too ArtPlantae Books - priced at $20.
I've got the publication from the traveling exhibition Losing Paradise which came to Kew Gardens - too the reproduction too publication qualities are really good.
The Awards
This twelvemonth the awards convey been made equally follows
I approximate the large departure virtually this exhibition, when compared to 1 I'm to a greater extent than used to (Society of Botanical Artists too the RHS), is that virtually all artists look to last exclusively displaying 1 go of art. I'm non certain if this is "an American thing" equally I've noticed this plow over inwards other American exhibitions. I convey to say that I much prefer to come across a suite of works. That for me illustrates much to a greater extent than clearly the relative skills levels of dissimilar artists too also provides the compass for an creative individual to actually shine.
The 'strictly botanical' artwork included inwards the exhibition came from 192 works submitted past times botanical artists from the US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, too the UK. The jurors Patricia Jonas, Kathie Miranda, too Derek Norman selected merely 43 works for the exhibition.
Selected Artists
The selected artists are listed below. Names inwards bold signal a link to their ain website; links non inwards bold link to the interview amongst the creative individual on the ASBA website. Those without whatsoever link convey no discernible presence online. Where I tin location where the creative individual comes from I've listed this too
Do delight allow me know if I've got whatsoever of this incorrect or there's a improve website which you'd rather last linked to - my contact details are inwards the side column.

Works on natural vellum are becoming to a greater extent than prevalent, amongst 10 artists choosing it equally their materialThat way that around 1 quarter of the artwork selected for this exhibition was painted on vellum which is a statistic which I honor quite amazing! I approximate it's perchance prompted from having some of the premier exponents of ikon on vellum living inwards North America - such equally RHS Botanical Art Show & Five Gold Medal Winners.
